The Emergency Rental Assistance (ERA) program, administered by the Treasury, has allocated more than $46 billion to help communities maintain housing stability during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Through the ERA program, participating governments have utilized the funding to provide over 10 million payments to renters facing eviction. Research has shown that this assistance has particularly benefited low-income renters and renters of color. Alongside other initiatives by the Administration, the ERA program has played a significant role in preventing millions of evictions since the start of the pandemic.

Applying for this assistance is easy and can be done online from the comfort of your own home, eliminating the need to visit any physical location due to the recent outbreak.

To be eligible for this support, you must meet one of the following criteria:

– Your income in the years 2021/2022 should not exceed $99,000 ($198,000 for couples filing jointly).
– You did not report any income to the Internal Revenue Service in 2020.
– You received a coronavirus stimulus payment.
– If you are unable to pay your full rent due to a significant reduction.
